1. Installation process and technical proposal for U-shaped glass in aluminum framing

1.1. Process description:

Process: review drawings and technical details → inspect the site → locate embedded steel inserts and align the vertical framing → set level lines to control elevation and depth → fix the aluminum framing for the U-shaped glass → recheck.

1.2 basic instructions:

1.2.1. Review the drawings and understand changes to earlier work and design revisions.

1.2.2 Familiarization with the construction site: inspect and accept completed work, and plan the remaining work according to the drawings.

1.2.3. Locate the embedded metal plates. They secure the connectors that join the curtain-wall structure to the main concrete structure. Find the original embedded plates before installing the connectors, as their correct location is essential for accurate installation.

1.2.4 Set out the vertical mullion centerline, which also serves as the connector centerline. Control the connector position during installation, keeping the deviation below 8 mm.

1.2.5 Set a level line to control the elevation and depth. Although the elevation was established when the steel inserts were embedded, construction tolerances require another level line when installing the connectors. Use this line to position the connectors accurately in both height and depth, following the requirements of the preceding operations.

1.2.6 fixed U-shaped glass-to-aluminium material: temporary fixing of aluminium material, i. e. point fixing, shall be carried out after the accuracy of the 3D positioning of the U-shaped glass-to-aluminium material has been determined. When the points are fixed, each welding surface points 2-3, to ensure that the connector will not fall off. 2. U-shaped glass installation methods and technical plan

2.1 process flow:

Construction preparation → inspection and acceptance of U-shaped glass → stacking by installation level → installation → adjustment and fixing → acceptance inspection.

2.2 basic instructions:

2.2.1 Construction preparation: prepare the personnel, materials, tools, and work area before installation. Arrange staffing to suit site conditions and the project schedule, generally with 4-5 people per team. Pair experienced workers with newer workers to support both efficient work and training. Check that all required U-shaped glass is present and undamaged. Leave enough space for installation, clean the framing grid, and adjust it to meet the installation requirements.

2.2.2 inspection and acceptance of u-glass:

The inspection covers the following items:

(1) whether the specifications and quantities are correct;

(2) whether there is any misplaced glass between the layers;

(3) whether the stacking of glass is safe and reliable;

(4) Check whether any glass exceeds the specified tolerances;

(5) Check for damaged glass;

The contents of the acceptance check are as follows:

(1) whether the three-dimensional error is within the control range;

(2) Check the glass and aluminum frames for damage and replace damaged components as needed;

(3) Check for defects in the sealant;

Keep detailed inspection and acceptance records, signed by all participating inspectors.

2.2.3 Stack U-shaped glass by installation level and specification. Clean and sort the panels before installation, arranging them in the order they will be installed. Secure the stacks to prevent the glass from tipping over.

2.2.4 Initial installation: each team of 4-5 people should follow these steps:

(1) check and look for glass;

(2) Transport the glass;

(3) adjust the direction;

(4) lift the glass to the installation position;

(5) to the slot, into the slot;

(6) to the seam;

2.2.5 Adjustment and fixing: after the initial installation, adjust the U-shaped glass panels for level, vertical alignment, and flatness. Beams and horizontal sealant joints should be level; glass panels and vertical sealant joints should be plumb; all panels should lie in the same plane. After making the exterior adjustments, check the interior alignment and confirm that the dimensions meet the design requirements.

2.2.6. Acceptance inspection: quality checks are performed during and after each stage of glass installation. Inspection continues throughout the process and covers the following items:

(1) Check that the U-shaped glass is level and plumb;

(2) Whether the sealant-joint dimensions meet the design requirements;

(3) Check whether horizontal and vertical sealant joints are straight;

(4) Check whether any glass panels are misaligned;

(5) Check whether the joints between the interior aluminum components meet the design requirements;
