What are the installation methods of U-shaped glass?

Check that the opening dimensions and flatness meet the design requirements. Inspect the U-shaped glass edges and faces for jagged notches or cracks. Check the outer dimensions and flatness of the aluminum-alloy frame profiles.

Installation of U-shaped glass

The U-shaped glass is usually made and installed on site in the following order:

1. Fix the frame to the building opening with expansion bolts or driven fasteners. Frame corners may use right-angle or mitered connections. Provide at least 3 fixing points on each side of the frame. The upper and lower frame members must have 1 fixing point at intervals of 400.

2. Fill the joints between frame and glass, between adjacent glass sections, and between frame and building with an elastic glazing sealant, such as silicone. The seal thickness must be at least 2 and its depth at least 3, and between U-shaped glass sections, the elastic seal must be at least 1, thick, with a seal depth on the exterior side of at least 3.

3. Once all the glass has been installed, clean dirt from its surface.

4. Carefully clean the U-shaped glass before inserting it into the frame.

5. Insert the U-shaped glass sections in sequence. The insertion depth must be at least 20, in the upper frame, 12, in the lower frame, and 20. in the side frames. If the remaining opening does not match the width of the final glass section, cut the section lengthwise and fit it according to step 18, “End glass installation sequence.” Cut the plastic pieces to the corresponding lengths and place them along one side of the frame.

6. Cut the stabilizing plastic components to the required lengths and place them in the upper and lower frame profiles.
