How is U-shaped glass planned and designed?

U-shaped glass, also called channel glass, is a profiled architectural glass that has been produced and used overseas for nearly 40 years. Its U-shaped cross-section gives it greater mechanical strength than ordinary flat glass, along with good light transmission, sound insulation, and thermal insulation. It can reduce the amount of metal framing required and is straightforward to install.

It is suitable for interior and exterior walls, partitions, roofs, and windows. Although U-shaped glass is used in everyday life, it is often poorly understood. It can be classified by color, surface appearance, and reinforcement: colorless or colored; smooth or patterned; and with or without wire mesh. The material appeared in China in the late 1970s. Limited familiarity among glass manufacturers and related construction businesses initially hindered its development and use. As the economy and living standards improve, cooperation among architectural designers, manufacturers, and distributors can support wider use of this type of architectural glass.

U-shaped glass can be produced by calendering, rolling, or casting, although calendering remains widely used. It is used extensively in China’s construction and industrial sectors.

U-shaped glass design and planning methods:

1, Surface finishes include standard fine-textured, clear and colored glass. Finishes other than the standard fine texture must be specified in the design.

2, due to the non-flat materials, we can do a good job of fire grade, if there is a special request in accordance with the relevant standard design plan indicated.

3. The equipment approach is referred to in the equipment assembly approach, where double-row wings are commonly used to place hollow equipment in pairs at the seams, perhaps with single-row wings facing inward or outward.

4. For exterior walls, the installed length of the glass depends on local wind loads, its height above ground, and other factors.
